Pelita Air Service https://jurnal.poltekbangmakassar.ac.id/index.php/airman/article/view/441
The AFCS Actuator is a component of the Automatic Flight Control System installed on the Sikorsky S-76 C++ helicopter. This system functions as the helicopter control center. Failures that occur in flight control will certainly result in inconvenience for the pilot in operating the helicopter, even the movement of the helicopter can go out of control, causing an incident or accident. At PT Pelita Air Service there were 94 replacements for the AFCS Actuator components with Part Number 76900-01802-106 which were carried out in the period from 2012 to 2022. So that attention needs to be paid to maintaining reliability and function of the components remains good. After conducting a reliability analysis using the Weibull distribution, the MTTF of AFCS Pitch, Roll and Yaw Actuator was 2526 FH, 3248.761 FH, 1625.655 FH respectively and the failure rate on MTTF was 0.00043413 for Pitch Actuator, 0.000263 for Roll Actuator and 0.000875 for Yaw Actuator. Based on the FMEA analysis, corrective actions were obtained to increase component reliability, namely carrying out scheduled inspections on components with the main focus on the actuator rod end, connector on the actuator and tension cable to the tail rotor
Colin Dayan Djoko Herwanto Lilies Esthi Riyanti Dhian Supardam Andri Kurniawan Fachrurrazi Burhanuddin Copyright (c) 2024 Airman: Jurnal Teknik dan Keselamatan Transportasi 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 7 1 13 23 10.46509/ajtk.v7i1.441 A Measuring Jakarta Air Traffic Controllers’ Mental Workload : An In Depth Analysis Using Subjective Workload Assessment Technique https://jurnal.poltekbangmakassar.ac.id/index.php/airman/article/view/451
Mental workload is a workload that is subjective and is owned by individuals in the work sector with a high-risk level of work. Air traffic control (ATC) personnel at the Jakarta Air Traffic Service Center (JATSC) are one of them. This problem needs to be highlighted because the level of air traffic density has been increasing compared to pandemic conditions. It now becomes a “new” habit that needs to be readjusted for JATSC Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) since 2021 (post-pandemic). Thus, this can create a separate mental workload for ATC personnel. The objective of the research to evaluate the mental workload of air traffic services during the post-covid-19 pandemic at JATSC using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT) method. The final result of the research is that ATC personnel are very concerned with the time load factor (Time) in carrying out air traffic service duties. A total of 16.67% of personnel emphasized the stress workload factor, and 8.33% emphasized the mental effort workload factor in carrying out their duties. The final score of the SWAT test was 46.2 in the afternoon shift and 48.6 in the procedural control task which indicated that the ATC personnel felt burdened with the afternoon shift and procedural control tasks.
Rany Adiliawijaya Putriekapuja Gema Firdaus Aviantara Agus Setiawan Copyright (c) 2024 Airman: Jurnal Teknik dan Keselamatan Transportasi 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 7 1 24 35 10.46509/ajtk.v7i1.451 Designing a Fire Detection System Using Blynk Application Based ESP32 Microcontroller https://jurnal.poltekbangmakassar.ac.id/index.php/airman/article/view/472
Fire is a disaster that often occurs in society, resulting in material loss and can cause loss of life. In order to reduce the impact caused by fire incidents, early detection is needed to prevent fires from occurring. In this research, a fire detection system was built by detecting the temperature and smoke contained in a room. The detection system uses a DS18B20 temperature sensor and an MQ135 smoke sensor connected to an ESP32 microcontroller connected to an LED layer. The fire detection system is monitored via a smartphone connected using the blynk application. The fire detection system is conditioned to detect temperatures > 450C and/or detect smoke > 600 ppm. When the temperature sensor detects that the temperature is > 450C and/or the smoke sensor detects that the smoke is > 600 ppm, the buzzer will sound and a fire warning notification will be displayed on the smartphone in real time. From the experimental results, it was found that when the temperature sensor detected a temperature of 48.90C, the buzzer immediately sounded and a temperature of 48.90C appeared on the smartphone and a fire warning notification on the smartphone in real time. An experiment was also carried out to detect the presence of smoke, when the smoke sensor detected 669 ppm, a buzzer immediately sounded and appeared on the smartphone, 669 ppm smoke, and a fire warning notification on the smartphone in real time
Rossi Peter Simanjuntak Donna N.M. Managing airport pavement infrastructure will enhance air traffic safety and reduce the problem likelihood of future airport pavement renovation costs. Therefore, the evaluation of the Flexible Pavement condition in the runway area becomes a crucial step. The goal is to measure and assess the level of wear, damage, and overall pavement performance. The research objective of this study to evaluate the pavement condition of Runway 12/30 at Budiarto Airport using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method. The research method or approach involved visual surveys and quantitative analysis to identify types and levels of pavement surface distress. Data were collected on various types of distress such as cracking, depression, raveling, and others that affect the integrity and operational safety of the runway. After data collection, PCI values were computed by considering the severity and extent of distress in each sample unit along the runway. The finding of the research revealed that the average PCI value for all samples on Runway 12/30 was 98.44, indicating an overall good condition. However, there were some samples showing "fair" PCI values, highlighting specific areas needing additional attention for maintenance and repair. Based on these findings, the technicians and airport management at Budiarto Airport have shown proficiency in maintaining the runway and have implemented suitable maintenance strategies to extend its service life and ensure operational safety. Therefore, this PCI-based assessment of pavement condition provides valuable insights necessary for airport management to make informed decisions regarding maintenance priorities and infrastructure sustainability
Suse Lamtiar Muhammad Zhabri Gaffari Darmawan Ika Endrawijaya Andri Kurniawan Zulham Hidayat Copyright (c) 2024 Airman: Jurnal Teknik dan Keselamatan Transportasi 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 7 1 49 60 10.46509/ajtk.v7i1.452 The Impact of Aircraft Noise and Compliance with the Use of Personal Protective Equipment on Hearing Impairment in Pilot Cadets at Indonesian Civil Pilot Academy - Banyuwangi https://jurnal.poltekbangmakassar.ac.id/index.php/airman/article/view/475
Noise in the workplace is a health issue in several countries. Similarly, in the aerospace industry, advanced aircraft, whether for civilian transportation or military purposes, pose risks due to exposure to aircraft noise, which passengers are continuously subjected to at relatively higher intensities and for prolonged periods. The problem of this research is to identify, reduce, and prevent the impact of aircraft noise and compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on hearing impairment among cadet pilots at the Indonesian Aviation Academy in Banyuwangi. The research objective includes collecting medical records of 57 cadets, measuring aircraft noise levels, and conducting a questionnaire survey. The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative, with 57 respondents. Data analysis was performed to determine the compliance of cadets with PPE usage at the Indonesian Aviation Academy in Banyuwangi. The results show that the noise produced by the aircraft operated by the academy exceeds the permissible noise level (PNL), and the questionnaire results indicate low compliance with PPE usage. However, medical record data reveal that the majority of cadets still have normal hearing, with only 12.3% or 7 respondents categorized as having mild hearing impairment. These findings imply a positive and significant influence of aircraft noise level and PPE compliance on hearing impairment among trainees.
Agung Sanjaya Herisal Hadi Prayitno Dimas Hari Cahyo Ahnis Zulkarnain Copyright (c) 2024 Airman: Jurnal Teknik dan Keselamatan Transportasi 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 7 1 61 69 10.46509/ajtk.v7i1.475 The Influence of Trauma and Mental Workload after an Aircraft Accident/Incident on ATC Situational Awareness In Indonesia https://jurnal.poltekbangmakassar.ac.id/index.php/airman/article/view/474
The research questions is to explore the possible impact on ATC (Air Traffic Controller) situational awareness problem as a result of trauma and mental workload following an accident/incident. In this context, situational awareness is a key element in aviation safety, where the ability of air traffic controllers to understand the surrounding conditions in a timely and accurate manner is vital. Using quantitative research methods and a survey approach, this study involved 60 ATCs in Indonesia who have experienced supervising aircraft that have experienced accidents or incidents. The use of Likert scales in the questionnaire aimed to obtain in-depth data on the variables of Post-accident/incident Trauma (X1), Mental Workload (X2), and Situational Awareness (Y). Multiple linear regression analysis highlighted the important finding that there is a significant influence between post-accident/incident trauma and mental workload on ATC situational awareness. These results suggest that traumatic experiences and mental workload experienced by air traffic controllers can negatively affect their ability to understand and respond appropriately to situations. In the highly dynamic world of aviation, where decisions made within seconds can have a huge impact, lowering the level of situational awareness can increase safety risks. The implications and results of this study emphasize the importance of paying attention to the psychological well-being of ATCs and their workload management.
Imam Sonhaji Aldela Ayu Titi Nurhawani Dhian Supardam Rifqi Raza Bunahri Copyright (c) 2024 Airman: Jurnal Teknik dan Keselamatan Transportasi 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 7 1 70 81 10.46509/ajtk.v7i1.474 Moderate Attitude of Students toward their English Teacher at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Model Makassar https://jurnal.poltekbangmakassar.ac.id/index.php/airman/article/view/471
A moderate student attitude refers to a balanced, transparent, and non-extreme attitude in the teacher's views, approach, and behavior towards students, learning materials, and the school environment.
