Abstract

W-18 is the only ATS Route that is used by the Tarakan Approach, this study aims to conduct a study of the level of traffic density handled on that route, so that impacts and conflicts that can occur from this main route are obtained.

The research method used is descriptive descriptive by distributing questionnaires, observing and documenting the movement of inbound and outbound aircraft on the W-18 route.

Based on the data that has been collected, it is known that the Tarakan Approach serves quite heavy aircraft traffic which can cause a lot of traffic. In addition there are also other factors that can cause conflicts to occur such as the same Standard Instrument Departure (SID) and Standard Instrument Arrival (STAR) using the R188 which is located on the W-18 route.
