Abstract

Aircraft utilize 4 supporting forces, namely lift, thrust, weight, and drag. Thrust is the thrust generated by the engine. In the compression phase at 25 Before Top Dead Center (BDC) it requires an ignition process on the engine which is generated by the magneto as a source of ignition electricity for the engine to generate thrust. The research objective is to produce a magneto simulation that can be used as a learning media. The research method used in this study is research and development in developing instructional media with the stages of product testing and product testing by experts.

The results of the study found that the designed Magneto simulator has appropriate functions for each component of the tool starting from the electric motor which is used as a Magneto rotor , the Magneto which is used as a high voltage electricity generator then flowed through the harness until the spark plug produces sparks. Whereas in the aspect of the AC dimmer, the rotational speed of the electric motor is not in accordance with the level of regulation of the rotational speed of the motor. So that the resulting spark is not large.
