In aircraft engine maintenance, there are several stages, one of which is reassembly. To reassemble the engine piston, a reciprocating engine teardown tool is usually used. A reciprocating engine teardown is a tool to simplify the installation and disassembly practice of opposed piston engines. Because by looking at the current conditions, this Reciprocating Engine Teardown Tool does not yet exist at the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic and Cadets only carry out Reassembly practices on work tables. The purpose of making this teardown tool design is to assist cadets in carrying out engine reassembly practices. The design of this teardown tool uses components of steel angle iron, flat iron, and general steel tool flange where the selection of this iron aims to support the engine optimally. The result obtained from the design of this reciprocating engine teardown tool is the creation of a tool that can function as a practice aid in workshop A of the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic. This tool can support overhaul practices when reassembling the engine in a less time-consuming and more effective manner. With this tool 98.8% of cadets "Strongly Agree" with this reciprocating engine teardown tool.
